Animation still previews

22 12 2010

With finals over, PixP has time to do some work.

Thymine is working on an animation/trailer for their comic!

It probably wont be done before the Holidays, but hopefully by the New Year!

Here’s a little background to the story:

By day Pixel Punch is a Chiptune band, by night they’re kicking some zombie butt!

Btw, the mini comics posted here are just side/daily adventures not related to any zombie demise.

Happy Holidays!

Trial & Error…

16 11 2010

By complete accident (from making pixel hearts for the I Heart Nerds event, to making business cards) Thymine made a Pixel Punch logo, along with brushes for it in photoshop! :

Sometimes accidents are nice! especially for those times you can’t think of an idea or design.

Thymine has also been working on business cards.  It was also one of those trial & error projects.  Here’s the business card adventure!

Start off with squares of course.

“That looks good…”

“Oh…. it’s way bigger than an average business card”

Back to the drawing board, with smaller squares this time:

This is where the business card + logo came to be.  It made sense to have two hearts, one for Mike & one for Thymine.

Thymine got dizzy doing this.

A lot more work… so Thymine decided to stop there, cut them out and then get some sleep.

Perfect! They are about the same size as a normal businesscard! They’re just a bit…different…

After, Thymine remembered she had a print-making background, and could screen-print the hearts, which would probably be faster for mass-production!  (Plus, it might look a bit cleaner than marker).

There will probably be more trial & error to come.

HK Nerd Party! & Pixel Punch meets ComputeHer!

15 11 2010

Pixel Punch went to the Hello Kitty “I Heart Nerds” Party on Saturday! Did anyone else go???!

Mike & Thymine dressed up fairly stereotypical nerdy!  Thymine wanted to wear a power glove & duck hunt nintendo guns, but ran out of time getting things ready.

Instead, she made 8-bit Hearts for them to wear!

Purikura ! You can see Mike’s pixel heart here!

Thymine likes Hello Kitty, but isn’t an obsessed fan.  Mike is indifferent.  Thymine actually really wanted to go to the event for one thing!

ComputeHer & 8-bit weapon were performing that night!  These are two chiptune artists/groups that Thymine used to listen to when she first started getting into chiptunes 2 years ago!

8 bit Weapon:

Kalamari Kastle & friends dancing to the beats!

After, Pixel Punch ran saw 8bit weapon/ComputeHer walking by & decided to strike a conversation.  But it was a lot harder than expected! Mike only got the attention of ComputeHer.

This is what Mike & Thymine thought would happen:

(Cigarette to the eye!)

Thankfully, that was not the case! She was actually really nice to Pixel Punch even though they were being awkward starstruck creepers! They told her they’ve been planning to start a chiptune group, and were so out of it & shy they even forgot to even introduce themselves!  But, ComputeHer was super nice and told them to keep in contact!

We Heart you ComputeHer!

Thymine thought these kids were adorable!  She wants awesome kids like that one day!

Here’s some of the art Pixel Punch liked! (and there’s more in the thumbnail gallery at the bottom of this entry!)

Thymine liked this a lot because it reminded her of her Print Making days!

Mike liked this!

And this!

After, Pixel Punch practiced a bit at Thymine’s place.

And eventually fell asleep because it was a very long day!

Hope everyone had a fun time at the event if they went! and hope everyone had a nice weekend!

14 11 2010

First real post!

Originally we wanted to start things by making a band but, I think that might come later.  Art-related things are easier too since we’re both art students!

Mike made a temp logo for us!

Mike also drew Thymine!

Another with a Keytar! (We both want a Keytar to display on our wall one day, but never really to play haha).

So! TM drew Mike in return, but ended up making them both!
